Here are major events happening at Groove Garden soon:
Winter Recital:
Our Winter Recitals were on February 5 and February 12 from 6-9 pm at Mary O’s, 32 Avenue A between 2nd and 3rd Streets–“epic” is a mild way of describing what happened at that show! Next recitals will be in June, date and place TBD.
Groove Garden Summer Songwriting Camp is a six-session program in which, in the space of a 5- day week, we form a band, write songs, and record them. This is an in-person camp, and students can attend as many or as few sessions as they like (most do one or two).
Some Particulars
- –We welcome students 9-16 years of age with basic to advanced musical ability.
- –The camp day is from 11 am to 3 pm, bring your own lunch.
- –The cost for the week is $450
- –Bring your own instruments if you want, but guitars, drums, microphones and recording equipment are all available for use at no charge.

At Groove Garden we offer lessons in guitar, piano, ukelele, drums, vocals, bass, and music production. Kids and adults are welcome, and we have classes from noon till 9 pm Monday-Friday and noon to 6 on weekends. A 1 hour lesson is $80 and half-hour is $50, with consideration taken for anyone with serious financial hardship. In addition, any newcomer is invited for a free 45-minute trial session in which they will learn something and hopefully have some fun!
We are presently offering online lessons, as well as live lessons at our space at 89 Ave C., between 6th and 7th streets in Manhattan’s East Village. To set up a lesson, please call or text Rob at (917) 847-4513 or email [email protected].
